Procedure of the month: peeling
Autumn is the best time to take a peeling course. With their help, you can get rid of age spots, improve microcirculation and generally refresh the skin. Marina Ratkevich, cosmetologist of the Petrovka Beauty Center, tells what peelings are.
Surface peeling, affecting the stratum corneum of the epidermis, is considered safe and effective. It is carried out using acids: glycolic (up to 70%), salicylic, retinoic (1-5%), pyruvic. Indications for use - acne, hyperpigmentation, moderate photoaging, wrinkles. The recovery period is a week, a side effect is peeling.
Middle peeling affecting the dermis, is indicated for severe aging and wrinkles. The recovery period lasts from 7 to 14 days, accompanied by swelling, redness, noticeable peeling. For median peeling, TCA 50%, multacid and glycolic acid 70% are used. Recently, cosmetologists are replacing this peeling with a fractional laser - it has fewer side effects.
Deep peeling (to the reticular dermis) is used extremely rarely. Helps to cope with deep wrinkles, strong photoaging, scars. The procedure is very painful, and recovery takes several months with a large list of complications.
The skin protects the body from the external environment and prevents its dehydration, so peeling damage should be controlled, and post-peeling care should include antibacterial protection products. Also, protect your skin from sunlight during 2-4 weeks after the peeling.
